I remember when I was about 11 or 12 years old, my mother would play her Oldie Goldies and she would always manage to sneak in a few Whitney Houston songs. And in My mothers most tipsy state she would start singing at the top of her lungs, and would often tell me to turn the music up. We would be up until the we hours of the morning, singing to loud as our vocal cords would let us.
My dad would wake up every time and curse us out and we could do nothing but laugh, because it was so freaking hilarious. And just to piss him off even more, my mom would order me to PLAY IT AGAIN. And there we were in the middle of the living room singing as loud as we can, trying unsuccessfully to squeeze out every high note Whitney belted out. Even if we were off key, we still sounded as if we should have been on her album. Lol. Ch… we sang every song until we got hungry. That would be the only time we turned the music down or off on those nights.
To me, this is my memory of Whitney Houston, this is what I will forever hold and charish in my heart.
R.I.P Whitney Houston, I Will Always Love and Remember you.
