Usher since the beginning of his career has redefined R&B music but it seems that with his latest effort he has decided to redefine Pop music as well. This is not a mainly R&B album, although we do have some R&B tracks on the album, this album is Usher coming into a Michael Jackson-esque phase where every sound is tailor made to the song and not the audience.
I know that statement was a little confusing but follow me with this one, Usher has made an album where his lyrics and sound seem to match together perfectly. Every beat compliments the feel of the song and elevates it to a new level. Usher has all but abandoned his style of music from his Confessions and Here I Stand albums and took the poppy side of Raymond V Raymond and expanded it into an entirely new album. The album seems effortless and flawless in the way it delivers amazing tracks, backed by amazing vocals, superb songwriting, and everything else that we want from Usher. I absolutely love the album from the beginning to the end, this is the work of a seasoned music veteran, he knows when to slow it down and how to make the songs slow enough for the R&B audience, but still upbeat enough to keep the pop audience tuned in. Truly great work from a legendary artist all of my LuvBugs will enjoy the album so make sure you go pick up or download a copy from iTunes, as always I recommend the deluxe version of the album to get the full effect, but I know we all have budgets so if you can only get the standard copy thats good as well.
