I uploaded this video because like Uncle P, I too was embarrassed and ashamed of us as Americans. We hide our sins and dirt like guilty pleasures, yet we are the first to cast a stone. As if we have become gluttons for hypocrisy or maybe hypocrisy is the defying standard for America. Though, Osama Bin Laden killed hundreds of thousands of people, and he brutally ordered the death of thousands of Americans, he is still human. I understood why some rejoiced when Osama was presumed dead…Justice? But to many who celebrated, the news of his death was more of a revenge killing. Never in my life have I seen so many people so proud of the demise and death of another human being. The cheers and screams broadcasted on television stations all across this so called “Great Nation” were likened to that of hungry hyenas. I was truly disgusted!
To add insult to injury, people were upset because Osama Bin Laden had been given a proper burial. Even mass murderers here in America are given a proper burial. But, the only differences between a mass murderer and Osama Bin Laden is the number of people they killed. 10 people brutally murdered by an American verses an Arab who killed 100,000 people? Is this still not the lesser of two evils? And to top it all off, the Government pays for the burials of the American Mass Murderers! There may not be a headstone, or a large group of people there to morn over the deceased, but there is a coffin and a Preacher/Pastor/Priest present to send the body back to ashes and dust. Somewhere along the way, our Faith, and humanity has all but disappears. The next time you see a crowd of people burning the American Flag and rejoicing, think about how we treated the death of Osama Bin Laden. I commend President Obama’s decision not to release the pictures of Osama, there was absolutely no need for us as to see them. What satifaction would we have gotten out of it? Being the first to post the pictures on our blogs, twitpic, send via text message, print in our newspapers and magazines, wouldn’t that be the same as Osama Bin Laden sending video messages praising the death of those who died in the 9/11 attacks? That my dear friends is not justice, but revenge!
