How are you?
I’m the best ever!!! Life is really good for me and for those around me as well.
Fashionn, I saw you a lot in Atlanta on the social scene. I didn’t know you were a hair goddess. How did it all start?
I always say “I didn’t pick hair, hair picked me” … when I was 17 I did a friends hair in a Salt and Pepper inspired style just playing around and people loved it and wanted me to do theirs. A month later when I graduated high school I enrolled in Cosmetology School instead of college and began a career that I love! I eventually did go to college for communications but hair was always my real bread and butter.
How did you find out about Jerseylicious?
I got an email one day that said “Do you want to be on our team”… I thought is was a joke at first because I am a reality TV fanatic and this type of thing was a dream come true for me. Now I am on the cast of an amazing show currently in their 4th season. I still had to interview but when I showed up I was pretty confident the position was mine.
Are there moments that you regret being aired in Jerseylicious?
Not at all. I am who I am. Some will love it and some wont.
Some watch me on the show and for the most part love me because i inspire them to want to do what I do which is make others feel and look good.
The negative people say that I’m conceited. People should not be upset because I say OUT LOUD that I’m great at what I do. I have 22 years in this business and have learned a lot. Would you want an unsure stylist weaving your hair? NO! People loose hair when a weave is not done properly. Do not take a chance like that, go to a person that has a LICENSE to do hair and that specializes in weaves. I am a Weaveologist!
Has your clientele increased since the show?
I just moved to NYC/NJ after being in Atlanta for the past 7 years. People here didn’t know me or that I do hair. I had to build a business out of nothing. With some photos of my work, a little marketing and word of mouth I was able to gain the interest of some very amazing clients.
So to answer the question: I was busy before the show and now i am still very busy! LOL!

Will you open your own chain of salons soon?
I just opened a place in the heart of White Plains, NY. Its VERY cute and private. Clients do not have to worry about others watching them get hair done. I have a very girly decor and want people to feel like they have had an awesome experience when they are finished. Not sure if I will open more locations because finding others who do your same work and give good customer service will not be easy. I have many dreams, not sure that multiple spots is one of them.
I know that you were recently engaged, to the love of your life. Congrats. So how are the wedding plans coming along?
Yes! Eric is an amazing guy. Athletic just like I wanted. He plays ball for the Harlem Wizards. He wants a BIG wedding with all his team mates as groomsmen. That’s as far as our planning vision has gone. Ultimately we wanted to plan it ourselves but I think I’m going to have to hire a wedding planner.
You always look fancy. Who are your favorite designers?
Thanks! Dressing this tall body is not easy. I love any designer who’s clothes will fit right! For the show I’m pretty outrageous in animal prints and feed my obsession for accessories. I’m a more is more kinda chick. For my serious side of Fashion I’m loving Laquan Smith, Gucci and YSL! I love shopping at boutiques for trendy pieces and try to skip the big malls.
Doll, thanks for taking the time out of your busy schedule to chat with us! We “Luv” you!
