Tri Star Pictures hosted a red carpet screening of the upcoming ‘SPARKLE’ film at the Tribeca Grand Hotel in Soho. The cast was on hand: Jordin Sparks, Mike Epps, Carmen Ejogo, Derek Luke, Tika Sumpter, Omari Hardwick and executive producer Debra Martin Chase. A slew of celebrities hit the carpet as well: Russell Simmons, Gabby Sidibe, Olympic medalist Cullen Jones, Steven Baldwin, Valerie Simpson, June Ambrose, Rutina Wesley, S. Epatha Merkerson, Q Parker, Adrienne Bailon, and pop/R&B newcomer Austin Brown.
And speaking of Austin Brown, the “Backpack Kids” singer (who’s the son of Rebbie Jackson and managed by Jermaine Dupri) took the stage at Santos Party House after the ‘SPARKLE’ premiere to perform his single “Menage a Trois” at the BET Music Matters Showcase.
