Aretha Franklin, the queen of soul recently celebrated her 70th birthday in New York City, and announced that she is reuniting with one of her musical mentors, Clive Davis, for a new album.
She partied with her ex-fiance, the likes of Diane Sawyer and the Rev. Al Sharpton joining fans in serenading her with Stevie Wonder’s version of “Happy Birthday.” Aretha’s birthday celebration at the Helmsley Park Lane Hotel included a dance performance, music by jazz pianist Kris Bowers and a three-tier, birthday cake.
