Diagnosed with breast cancer, the second leading cause of death in women globally, April’s life would never be the same. Her daily challenges became a balancing act that included securing top tier media placements and planning stellar events for her clients and scheduling chemotherapy and radiation treatments to sustain her health. As her treatment continued and she began to immerse herself in cancer research, April instituted a personal charge to spread a message of attention and action that would go beyond traditional pink ribbons and walk-a-thons.
